What we believe

Mirror Dear is a gentle place to reflect: guided prompts, a private diary, and a community to reflect alongside.

Nicely done. Want to keep this?

We'll send your answers, handwriting, photos and voice recordings to your inbox and won't store them. Videos stay on this page. Email isn't end-to-end encrypted.

In the app, your reflections stay private in your diary.

Build a guide from scratch or remix one you love. Add prompts that people can answer in any way they like: typing, speaking, writing by hand, a photo or video, or a voice recording. Set a timer, choose a diary and colours, and get AI suggestions for prompts. Keep it just for you, share it with friends or publish it to the community library.

See how guide building works

Your diary is yours. Even from us.

Mirror Dear is built so that only you can read what you write. Your entries are locked on your phone, the AI works on your phone, and we never see the contents. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

  1. Your phoneLocked the moment you save
  2. Our serversOnly scrambled data we can't read
  3. Your other deviceUnlocked only with your key
Your entries are locked on your phone, travel and are stored as scrambled data, and unlock only on your own devices.

One honest trade-off

Because we can't read your diary, we can't unlock it for you either. When you sign up, you'll get a recovery key. Keep it somewhere safe.

When can I get it?

Mirror Dear launches on 5 December 2026 on the App Store and Google Play. Leave your email and we'll tell you the moment it's live.

Is Mirror Dear free?

Yes. Mirror Dear is free to download and use. If you'd like to help keep it independent and ad-free, you can support us with whatever amount feels right.

Can Mirror Dear read my diary?

No. Your entries are encrypted on your phone and synced with end-to-end encryption, so only your devices hold the key.

Do I need to be good at writing?

Not at all. You can answer any prompt by typing, speaking, recording your voice, drawing, or adding a photo or video. A few honest words are plenty.
