We want everyone to be able to use the Mirror Dear website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, a typeface designed for low-vision readers, and meets a contrast of at least 4.5:1 in both the Light and Twilight themes.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Pages follow a clear heading order and use landmarks, real buttons and links.
- Every form field has a label, and problems are explained in words, not colour alone.
- Touch targets are at least 44 pixels.
- Text can be resized and zoomed to 400% without losing content.
- If you’ve asked your device to reduce motion, the site doesn’t animate, and countdowns show days, hours and minutes without ticking seconds.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives.
Known limits
- The drawing prompt in the try-it guide needs a pointer, finger or stylus. You can describe your answer in words instead.
- Voice typing in the try-it guide depends on your browser, and isn’t available in every browser. You can always type.
