Mirror Dear’s community is a place to reflect together. These guidelines apply to guides you publish, forum posts, messages, events and your profile.
Be kind
- Speak to others the way you’d like to be spoken to on a hard day.
- Disagree gently. Never mock, shame or pile on.
- Respect privacy. Never share someone else’s words, entries or details without their permission.
Write guides that help
- Ask open, curious questions without judgement.
- Invite, never pressure. No guilt, urgency or promises of a “fix”.
- Don’t present a guide as therapy or medical advice.
- Only publish guides you wrote or have the right to share. If you remix one, credit the original.
Look after yourself and others
- If someone seems to be in distress, be kind, and point them to support. In the UK, Samaritans are free on 116 123, any time.
- Never encourage self-harm, hate, harassment or violence.
Not allowed
- Spam, advertising or selling without permission.
- Hateful, harassing, sexual or violent content.
- Impersonating others.
